Sara Gilbert Spotted Sans Wedding Ring After Split From Linda Perry

Sara Gilbert, former host of The Talk and the star of The Conners, filed court documents on Friday to legally separate from her wife of five years, Linda Perry. And, the 44-year-old actress and producer was spotted for the first time this weekend without her wedding ring.

Gilbert wore a gray sweater with jeans and black boots, but did her best to avoid the cameras with a pair of sunglasses and a camouflage bucket hat.

Gilbert and Perry – a singer/songwriter who is best known for fronting the 1990s rock group 4 Non Blondes – tied the knot in May 2014. And, one year later they welcomed their son Rhodes Emilio Gilbert Perry. Gilbert also has a 15-year-old son named Levi and a 12-year-old daughter named Sawyer who she shares with her ex-partner, TV producer Allison Adler.

When Perry married Gilbert, she told Entertainment Tonight that she had made some major life changes before she met the Roseanne actress. She explained that she had smoked cigarettes since she was 15, and one day she was in mid-smoke, and decided it was time to make some changes.

Perry says she quit smoking, started eating better, and began focusing on herself. This led her to reevaluate what she deserved in life, and that’s when her yoga instructor introduced her to Gilbert. After they hung out for a few months as friends, Perry started developing romantic feelings.

“I’m like, ‘She’s just so sexy. She’s so mysterious and there’s something. She’s so smart.’ And that was it. Like, that moment when I said she’s so smart, she’s so sexy, like, she is not in my league at all. She’s way out of my league,” said Perry.

The singer explained that when she knew Gilbert was out of her league, that’s when she decided to go after her. Perry said that she knew there was nobody else, and Gilbert was her penguin, the person she is supposed to be with.

“That is my person, this my one,” said Perry. “Because I’m going to make her my one.”

Perry said that she loved hanging out with Gilbert, and it never felt like they were trying. Instead, they were just being themselves and who they are.

Unfortunately, something went wrong, and Gilbert and Perry split earlier this year. Gilbert listed the date of separation as August 13th and cited irreconcilable differences as a reason for the split. She also asked the court to not award spousal support to herself or to Perry.

Earlier this year, Sara Gilbert left The Talk to spend more time with her family because her life was out of balance. However, she still stars on The Conners, which airs Tuesday nights on ABC.
