Over the past few months, former kickboxer Andrew Tate has seen a meteoric rise in his popularity on social media. In a podcast with Anthony Pompliano, Tate revealed the reason he couldn’t continue chess was because of his parents splitting up, which led him to pursue kick- boxing.

“I was growing up with chess, then my mother and father split up. My mom was English, wanted to go back to England, I was 11, 10, or 11 and in America chess was quite big in schools and obviously, I had my father as a coach who would take me to all these tournaments,” he said pointing out that his father’s absence cost him a coach.

So I was the youngest ever to win it. I remember I was sitting there across some 16-year-old when you’re like 5 and a half. That’s scary right? and I remember when I beat him, he cried. If Tate’s statement is true, it would certainly be considered an impressive achievement for him. While some people might not agree with Top G’s controversial views. It is very hard to label him as someone who is just famous on the internet for only his controversial views.
