Melbourne private chef job ad linked to billionaire Pratt familys Raheen Estate

One of Australia’s richest families is believed to be on the look out for a private chef, after a small detail was spotted in a job advertisement for a family residence in Melbourne.

The job ad that emerged last week requested an experienced chef or cook to serve “traditional Shabbat meals on alternating Friday nights”.

A knowledge of Shabbat and eastern-European cuisine was required, as well as the ability to cater for about 20 guests.

The ad, as seen by The Sydney Morning Herald, asked applicants to apply to an email ending in Raheen.com.

Raheen Estate in Kew is owned by the Pratt family, originally bought by late Australian businessman Richard Pratt in 1980.

Richard and his wife Jeanne were both born in Poland and came to Australia as small children.

Richard and Jeanne’s son Anthony Pratt is now the head of the family’s company Visy, a packaging and recycling giant.

Jeanne and Anthony, along with his partner, Claudine Revere, and their children, Leon and Lilly, live at the estate.

Anthony undertook extensive renovations of the estate in 2016 which is believed to have caused its value to skyrocket to about $100 million.

Anthony and his family came in third on The Australian’s rich list this year with $27.77 billion.

He was ranked 171 on Forbes’ 2022 list of the world’s richest people.

A chef at the residence would more than likely be serving up food to some famous guests.

In February, 13-year-old Leon’s bar mitzvah at Raheen attracted billionaire’s John Gandel and Paula Fox (wife of Lindsay Fox), Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews, Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg, singer Guy Sebastian, and comedy duo Hamish Blake and Andy Lee.

The event raised money for Make-A-Wish Australia.

The same month, Anthony was revealed as Australia’s biggest political donor for the past year.

He pumped $1.29 million into Liberal Party branches through his company Pratt Holdings, over the course of 12 months.

The figure was down from $1.5 million Anthony donated the year before, and less than half of the $3 million he handed over in 2018-19.
